2012 Consultation and ConferenceHope Is as Strong as a Woman's Arm: Mobilizing amidst Violence against Women and Girls in Africa and Its Diaspora
The first Consultation of African and African Diasporan Women in Religion and Theology was held July 8-14, 2012, at the Talitha Qumi Center, Legon, Ghana. Women from Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, and the United States discovery, relationship-building, and conversation. In addition to presentations and discussion on the meeting theme Hope Is as Strong as a Woman’s Arm: Mobilizing amidst Violence against Women and Girls of Africa and Its Diaspora, conferees visited Cape Coast and El Mina castles of enslavement and met in focus groups to strategize for future collaboration.
