The Consultation will present broad international and interdisciplinary explorations of Embodying Courage: Black Women and Girls’ Lives Matter. The Consultation hopes to be a point of intersectionality for all who are interested in “enhancing the quality of life of continental and diasporan African women and girls.”

2018 Consultation STUDENT Scholarship Application

2018 Consultation of African and African Diasporan Women in Religion and Theology Embodying Courage: Black Women and Girls’ Lives Matter ~ July 9-13, 2018 ~ Salvador, Bahia BRAZIL About the Scholarship: Scholarships are available to support students attending the 2018 Consultation of African and African Diasporan Women in Religion and Theology in Brazil. Two types of scholarships are available: Registration Scholarships of up to $800 and Travel Scholarships of up to $1500. Applicants must complete the conference registration form to be considered for scholarship support. All scholarships will be awarded as reimbursements. In addition to completing the scholarship application below, an institutional officer must send a verification of enrollment as a PDF to scholarships@africanatlanticdaughters.com. The scholarship APPLICATION DEADLINE is July 2, 2018. Institutional verification of enrollment is required before release of funds.   • I understand that if I receive a scholarship from The Daughters of the African Atlantic Fund Corporation, my name will be used in The Daughters' publicity. I understand that I am expected to supply a head and shoulders shot for use with my name in The Daughters' publicity.
  • I agree that if I receive a scholarship from The Daughters of the African Atlantic Fund Corporation to attend the 2018 Consultation, I will write and submit a blog (at least 1,000 words) about the Consultation by July 30, 2018.
  • I agree that if I receive a scholarship from The Daughters of the African Atlantic Fund Corporation to attend the 2018 Consultation, I will contribute at least three social media posts per day (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) during the meeting in accord with social media posting guidelines provided by The Daughters of the African Atlantic.
  • I understand that my scholarship application is not valid without verification of enrollment from an institutional official, which must be received before funds are released. Verification of enrollment should be sent to scholarships@africanatlanticdaughters.com.
  • I understand that scholarships will be awarded as reimbursements. I further understand that I before funds are released, I must submit receipts for travel scholarships.

Housing
Housing is included in the registration costs. Registration fees cover housing and three meals daily, coffee breaks and snacks, ground transportation from/to the Salvador airport, travel and admission to the immersion experience, and program support.
