This prophetic and pastoral Sankofa spirit invites the blessings and learnings of the future and the past. On December 14, 2023 the Conference of National Black Churches (CNBC), made up of 7 of the national Historic Black Churches, gave Rev. Dr. Angélique Walker-Smith The Shirley Chisolm Award in Orlando, Florida during their National Awards evening at their annual National Consultation. The award is an acknowledgement of the extensive global, national, and local work she has done as a faith and public engagement thought leader.

Ms. Sindile Mathebula, PhD has been appointed as a Chaplain Resident at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, GA. In this position she will provide spiritual care support to patients, families, and staff. She will also work with the multidisciplinary team in assessing the holistic needs of patients and integrate research on maternal mental health in postpartum, labor and delivery units.
